Owen Craigie made his first grade debut for Newcastle at 17 in 1995 and played ten years in the NRL for the Newcastle Knights, Wests Tigers and South Sydney. He played 153 first grade games and won a premiership with the Knights in 1997 before retiring at 26 years of age. He is the only player in the history of rugby league to represent the Australian schoolboys on three occasions.
